About Joan:

Joan is a social anthropologist and contract researcher who has been at Moray House for over 10 years. Her research interests reflect the wide range of projects in which she has been involved and include inter/multidiciplinary working in school settings, exclusion from school, and the experiences of marginal groups in school education (e.g. Gypsy Travellers, Refugees, pupils with a visual impairment, and pupils diagnosed with ADHD). She co-taught a post-graduate course in qualitative methods for several years and is currently co-supervising 2 PhD students.
